fp (front post crochets): in general, simply make the appropriate stitch as you normally would; however, instead of going through the top stitches of the last round, insert hook in between the posts from front to back and scoop around that post to the front catching the wrap and pulling it behind and back to the front to continue your stitch. fpsc – front post single crochet; fpdc = front post double crochet; fphdc = front post half double crochet; and fptr = front post triple crochet.
fpdc-dec: crochet two front post double crochets together. fpdc 3 tog = front post double crochet three stitches together; *start first double crochet in front post style, don’t pull through last 2 loops on hook*, repeat 3 times; then pull yarn over through all remaining hooks to finish stitch, makes 3 stitches into one stitch.
